The Africa Study Bible is a huge step forward in our effort to equip indigenous church planters with a tool for accurately understanding, confidently studying, expertly teaching, and effectively disciplining new converts.”

Empowering Indigenous Missionaries in Africa

As a Christian organization focused on empowering and equipping indigenous missionaries in Africa, Petros Network understands the importance of providing our church planters with resources that are not only relevant but also contextual to their communities. This is where the Africa Study Bible comes in and why it is an excellent resource for our indigenous leaders.

The Africa Study Bible, created and distributed by Oasis International and God’s Word for Africa, is a unique resource that provides not only the full text of the Bible but also contextual references and commentaries relevant to African cultures and communities. This resource was created in 2011 by a group of leaders across Africa who felt called by God to use cultural understandings to apply Scripture to everyday life in Africa. This study Bible speaks uniquely to the hearts of our African church planters, revealing the truth and beauty of “God’s Word through African Eyes.”

“After a years-long search for a study Bible developed for Africans by African scholars, we are confident the Lord has led us to this resource.” —Ray Noah

Here is why the Africa Study Bible is an excellent resource for our church planters:

  • It is contextual: The African Study Bible is contextual to the African continent, which means that the commentaries and references are relevant to the cultural, social, and economic realities of African communities. This helps them understand the Bible in a way pertinent to their communities.
  • It is comprehensive: The African Study Bible is a comprehensive resource that includes not only the full text of the Bible but also study notes, articles, and maps. This means that our African church planters have access to a wide range of resources that can help them deepen their understanding of the Bible and better equip them for ministry.
  • It is empowering: The African Study Bible was created by African scholars and leaders, meaning it is a resource developed by and for Africans. This is empowering because our church planters have access to a resource that reflects their own perspectives, experiences, and cultures.

A Divine Partnership with Oasis International

We are so grateful to be partnering with Oasis International to provide these at a discounted rate and to help us get these Bibles into the hands of our church planters. The African Study Bible’s impact on our discipleship and the equipping of our indigenous missionaries is exciting. By providing our African church planters with this resource, we empower them to deepen their understanding of the Bible and better interpret it in a way relevant to their communities. This, in turn, will help them to be more effective in their ministry and better serve their communities.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

We believe this resource will profoundly impact our discipleship and the equipping of our indigenous missionaries, and we are excited to see how it will be used to further God’s kingdom in Africa. Thank you, Oasis International, for partnering with us!
