“God wants us to get some skin in the game
and to help make a tangible difference.“

John writes in John 6: 5-8 “When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
This is an impossible situation.
Why did Jesus need a boy and his lunch to solve the problem?
Because He desires for us to participate—to work through us to bring him Glory. We were created for this. Jesus invited this little boy to participate with him and he said yes! What kind of impact did this make on his life?
The boy didn’t receive any recognition. He didn’t get likes on twitter, or followers on Facebook or Instagram. The crowd probably didn’t even know what he did. Yet, when asked, he gave freely and as a result of his unselfish gift, thousands were fed physically and spiritually. He participated in one of the greatest miracles ever recorded!
This young boy was placed in a position to be used and as a result Jesus did the impossible through him.
You too can be used by God to feed those in need. God wants to use you. He wants you in on what he is doing in the world. He wants you to participate with Him because this is a miracle working God who works in small ways to do big things. He makes the impossible possible!
The impossible is possible!
If you want to be in a position for God to work in you, say YES to participating. Say YES and let God use you for His glory. Say YES, give Him your lunch and watch what He can do with it.
Yes, I will give Jesus my lunch so He can do the impossible through me.
Why $12? That is roughly what an average meal costs. Giving up one meal-out provides lunch for a malnourished child every day for an entire month. It is the difference between life or death for these children. How many children will you save?
