The Story
They did not wait to be rescued.
In 2025, 146 women in South Sudan joined Petros Network Women and participated in village savings groups rooted in their local churches. Week by week, they pooled what little they had. Together, they saved nearly $6,000 — roughly $40 each.
That may not sound like much. But $40, saved by a woman who has never had a bank account, changes the equation. It means a stove for a bread business. School fees paid on time. A restaurant opened by a woman who cannot read but refuses to be stopped.
Every single one of them re-enrolled for the next cycle. One hundred percent!
These women are not waiting. They are building — together.
