A Core Philosophy of Collaborative Ministry Effort
Our mission is to extend the Kingdom of God and strengthen the African church. We realize that in addition to our expertise and resources, the task of fulfilling the God-sized vision of planting 10,000 churches by 2020, influencing the culture with Kingdom values, and demonstrating God’s love through Redemptive Lift Efforts will require a network of like-minded ministry partners.
Our work has been, and will always be, a collaborative effort, networking local ministries with international sponsors. Here is a quick overview of our partnerships:
- Missionary Pastor (Church Planter) – This is the frontline church planter, sent by the local denomination.
- Ethiopian Evangelical Denominations, local, district and Zonal Fellowships and local churches – Comprised of the indigenous evangelical denominations and individual churches of the region in which we work. We work with 19 different denominations that adhere to our essential Christian doctrines as spelled out in the Statement of Faith of the National Association of Evangelicals . Additionally, This group is part of, and in good standing with, the Evangelical Church Fellowship of Ethiopia (ECFE) and have ultimate over site of the church plants.
- Petros Network—Ethiopian Call Ministry – our Ethiopian team, made up of staff and volunteers, who assist local fellowships/denominations with the oversight, training and support of the missionaries. They also facilitate communications and reporting between the missionary and their international sponsor.
- The Sponsor – individuals, churches, and ministries in America and other first world nations who provide the prayer and financial support to send church planters into remote villages to plant churches and facilitate redemptive efforts in relief and development.
- Strategic Network Partner — a Strategic Ministry Partner tirelessly works alongside us and/or has given generously to fulfill the mission God has given in Church Planting and Redemptive Lift efforts. A Strategic Network Advocate helps us to promote the Petros Network mission around the world.
