You can help to break the cycle of poverty by empowering destitute women (widowed mothers) as agents of change in their surrounding community. Your sponsorship provides emergency relief, education and training, business development and a family grant.

Empower Women, TESFA Project
Petros Network’s TESFA Project takes on a holistic approach to the complex problem of poverty for at risk women and widowed mothers. A key part includes the TESFA Center, a service and vocational training center, which includes a medium sized medical clinic, laboratory, training area, special-needs-children classrooms, a guest house (TESFA House), product production, cafe, and more.
1 | STABILIZE HER FAMILY
Many of the destitute women and their children entering our program are without food and reliable housing, have severe medical issues, and are left without hope. We give an initial gift to put food in the home and provide for medical care while she is learning how to launch a business.
2 | PARTICIPATE IN TRAINING
Our training efforts are holistic and focus on every area of a woman’s life: personal life, family life, business life, community life and spiritual life. The destitute women (typically widows with children) have expressed their need for education in these areas and we are committed to bringing in teams to enlighten them.
3 | LAUNCH A BUSINESS OR
Micro-grants (family grants) helps each women start a small business that benefits her entire family as well as the community in which she lives. For those women who are unable to manage their own businesses, meaningful work is another option to lift the quality of life for hardworking widowed mothers.
4 | CONNECT & SAVE IN COMMUNITY GROUPS
Our goal is to empower women and create a development program that is sustainable and self-funding in the future. Our hope is that the destitute women in the villages we serve will not always rely on first-world funding and grow to be self-sustaining and self-supporting.
5 | LEAD IN HER COMMUNITY
Our goal is that women would move from destitute to empowered. Through training and financial support women learn to have a voice in their community and because of their new found success in their businesses, they gain the confidence and platform to lead others.
